Collection from the garden.
Um, I think my herb gardens have got a little out of hand…
This week in green beans~ xD
The potato plant’s stems fell over today due to wind, but it doesn’t seem to be effecting anything. I’m keeping the broccoli alive until next week so I can rip it out and give the leaves (which are edible, and supposedly a good spinach substitute) to intergalacticju. I was an idiot and planted them outta season, so they never flowered. Gonna use the big pot for two pattypan plants, and the smaller of the big ones for a tomato transplant. The other two…I haven’t decided yet.
One of our #heirloomtomatoes is beginning to turn colors. It’s such an exciting part of the process. #homegrownharvest #backyardgardening #gardening #vegetablegardening #tomatoes #delicious #food #growyourown #instahub #organic #instagood #instagram (Taken with Instagram)
Our first ancho pepper! This is one of the three pepper plants we bought from the garden center - we weren’t sure if our pepper transplants would make it so we thought we should get some backup. However, our transplants are doing great and the anchos have done the best of all - I think we might have five plants in total. Oh well, we’ll just be making lots of delicious Mexican food!
This is what a flower bud and a flower of an eggplant looks like. It’s so pretty!
Staked the tomatoes today - still not really sure of the best way to support them. There are so many different theories out there. I don’t like the idea of cages because it seems like I’d miss a tomato or two in all that dense greenery - we’ll see how the stakes work for now!
ONE LAST THING!!! check out my cantaloupe and squash! the bees are all over them….doing a great job lately…but still no fruits……..I THINK i see a female squash popping up though!!!!!!! is it?? is it???
